Wii are Doing Our Part to Stimulate the Economy!

So, I finally convinced Josh to buy a Wii today.  "What" you say?  I had to convince Josh to buy something.  He's been holding back on us but Greg and Angie brought theirs over last night and Boone and Josh had so much fun!  There are no Wii Fits to be found online or in the stores around here for now but that will be my next purchase.  Well, maybe after another wii-mote.

Master of the English Language

After walking into to a soaking wet bathroom floor-
Carla: "Brody, did you get out of the tub?"
B: "No, I got back in"

Watching TV-
Josh: "Brody, stop jumping on the furniture!"
B: "Dat's not furniture, dat's a couch"

This is What a Good Day Looks Like

I've had this pic since April to post but I was so irritated with what followed that it took a while to get it up.
This is a great day in the life of Brody.  Spiderman boxers over a diaper, rubber boots, transformers and swords.  Throw in a little "Mr. Men" on Tivo and life couldn't be much better.

Unless of course you find yourself  a little bored while Mom and Brother are filling up the Q-Tip holder.  Then, it becomes necessary to climb the hall closet, grab the BRAND NEW bottle of Dimetap, work the child proof lid off, and dump the ENTIRE contents of the bottle onto the carpet (all within about two minutes)!

He was actually trying to pour it into the medicine cup and missed, so I wasn't even thinking about the fact that he might have swallowed a large amount until I called Josh to complain.  Good Parent/Nurse huh!  So I smelled his breath and my new found fears were put to rest.  Definitely no yummy grape breath there!

Baby Lauren

So at long last, this bad Auntie is finally getting a chance to put up some pics of baby Lauren.  I haven't had a chance to take any ones of just her being her cute self yet.  The first one is Josh's masterpiece.  He took a picture of the computer monitor (about 10 times) after Elissa sent some photos.  I think he's a proud uncle.

This night, we were working on learning to eat without hurting Mama for the most part.  Is this a picture of a satisfied baby or what!  Elissa looks great for 1 week postpartum.  Just hope she feels better soon!  The hair on this little girl is amazing.  I though Trav was going to cry when I was explaining how it would fall out.  The guy is already completely wrapped around her tiny fingers.

Oh! I am putting the link to Elissa's Blog back on the side bar.  Not sure where it went.  I am sure there will be plenty of baby Lauren updates there!

What a Day!

My morning started out with these yummy treats and an extra hot mocha made by my hubby!

Boone and I went on a little hike on the American Trail near our house. They have been doing a lot of work down there and Boone is very ready to go again.

We followed this duck for awhile down the canal before he flew off.

Here is my little man on the bridge from the park.  We had a lot of fun together but I made the mistake of mentioning that we might actually get ticks here this year and we need to be careful.  He never let me forget it, he wasn't very interested in straying too far from the trail.  All in all, a pretty nice Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of my fellow mom's out there.

Today I am so grateful for my own mom who did such a wonderful job raising me :)  She is always there to encourage and fix my mistakes, even today.  She gives me confidence that I can have a career and be everything I need to be for my boys just as she did and was for me.  I love you Mama!

I am also grateful for my wonderful mother-in-law (how many people can honestly say that?) She helped to create this wonderful man I am married to and mold him into the best father I know. She has welcomed me into her heart and makes me feel just like her own daughter.

I am so thankful that I've been entrusted to raise my wonderful boys, with all the challenges and joys they bring.

Last, but not least, I am thankful that our sweet little niece Lauren finally joined us around 2:30 this morning.  Elissa, she is the best Mother's Day gift you will ever receive and I can't wait to get over there today to inhale that new baby essence (and post some pics soon).

Sing a Long

I overhear Josh singing in our bedroom while hanging out with the boys.

Me: What are you singing?

Him: Huh, what? Um, Alice in Chains.

Me: No you weren't, what was that?

Him:  I told you, Alice in Chains.

Me:  Uh, No. That was "Tigger and Pooh"

Him: I don't even know what you're talking about.

Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire!  :)
