Looking Out for Mama

Yesterday we were getting in the car and Boone says "Dad, you need to change Mom's oil. Oh wait, never mind, you just hadn't started the car all the way yet!". I love that my little man is checking out my engine gauges and lights and looking out for me!  What a great kid!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of my fellow mom's out there.

Today I am so grateful for my own mom who did such a wonderful job raising me :)  She is always there to encourage and fix my mistakes, even today.  She gives me confidence that I can have a career and be everything I need to be for my boys just as she did and was for me.  I love you Mama!

I am also grateful for my wonderful mother-in-law (how many people can honestly say that?) She helped to create this wonderful man I am married to and mold him into the best father I know. She has welcomed me into her heart and makes me feel just like her own daughter.

I am so thankful that I've been entrusted to raise my wonderful boys, with all the challenges and joys they bring.

Last, but not least, I am thankful that our sweet little niece Lauren finally joined us around 2:30 this morning.  Elissa, she is the best Mother's Day gift you will ever receive and I can't wait to get over there today to inhale that new baby essence (and post some pics soon).

Grouchy Mom/ Fun Mom

Way more grouchy than fun lately, I think.  But tonight we had some rain and Josh let Brody go out to play in it.  I decided I'd needed to be fun mom and go out there with him.  We stomped and splashed and played until we got Boone to come out too.  Then Boone and I got cold and came inside.  Brody is like his cousin, Dylan.  He could be in 40 degrees in a tee shirt and it doesn't bug him a bit.

I tried to upload some video Steph took of Boone's t-ball game but it was too grainy by the time it uploaded.  We'll take the camera this week and get some video.  It is hysterical.  Boone and Ian think that you get a point every time you get the ball, so fielding is becoming way cooler that batting.  I never thought that would happen.  Most practices include one of us trying to distract Brody to keep him from running on the field yelling "My Turn!" That kid is gonna be one heck of an athlete, or at least a Sports Fanatic.
