Added Twitter updates to the sidebar because my life is sooo fascinating that I know you can't wait a week for a blog post.  Actually, you'll probably wait two weeks for a tweet as I keep forgetting about it!  Warning...I usually tweet from my iPhone so grammar and spelling are usually a mess and evidenced by the "rickets" tweet.

Grouchy Mom/ Fun Mom

Way more grouchy than fun lately, I think.  But tonight we had some rain and Josh let Brody go out to play in it.  I decided I'd needed to be fun mom and go out there with him.  We stomped and splashed and played until we got Boone to come out too.  Then Boone and I got cold and came inside.  Brody is like his cousin, Dylan.  He could be in 40 degrees in a tee shirt and it doesn't bug him a bit.

I tried to upload some video Steph took of Boone's t-ball game but it was too grainy by the time it uploaded.  We'll take the camera this week and get some video.  It is hysterical.  Boone and Ian think that you get a point every time you get the ball, so fielding is becoming way cooler that batting.  I never thought that would happen.  Most practices include one of us trying to distract Brody to keep him from running on the field yelling "My Turn!" That kid is gonna be one heck of an athlete, or at least a Sports Fanatic.

Random Blathering

I made a cheesecake yesterday.  Josh told me it was a must do after we went grocery shopping and I bought cream cheese again without checking to see if we already had some.  After we were done shopping, we had about seven bricks of cream cheese in the fridge.

Good thing, because I used the recipe for New York Cheesecake from the "America's Test Kitchen" cookbook and it called for 5 bricks of cream cheese.  FIVE, can you believe it.  That's not a heart attack waiting to happen. But it is ooohhh so good!  Apparently they do all that testing for a reason.  Everything I've made from that cookbook has been fabulous!

I called Josh on his way home to pick up some graham crackers for the crust.  When he came home he was putting the extra packages away and noticed a Brand New box of graham crackers in the cracker keeper.  Something tells me I am going to have to start actually checking for groceries before we shop!

Is this this new blogger background I put up giving anyone else a headache???

And I've decided that I am a better cook than Dream Dinners is, even though the convenience is nice.

Signs of Spring and ... Radiation?

These make me so happy!  This winter seems like it has been so very long and not considerate enough to give us much snow to play in.  I am so glad to see the beautiful signs popping open.

This is my vase of buds from Costco that finally opened  up! They are prettier when they are in focus :)

These beauties are in my front yard.

This is the one that concerns me a little.  This being four daffodils on one stem.  I've never seen this before and all of the flowers shooting out of this one bulb are multi-headed.  I've never been too worried about living near Hanford but...this I am not so sure about.

Taco Body

Overheard Boone singing, sounded like something about tacos.

Me: "What are you singing buddy?"

Him:  "The chipmunks song"

Me:  "Which song is that?"

Him:  "You know Mom, Won't you take me to funky town, taco body, taco body, taco body..."

Spring Cleaning

Have you guys seen this stuff?  I finally broke down and bought some this weekend.  I hadn't bought any yet because I though it was too expensive but I looked at it and its very concentrated, so it should last for a bit.  I wiped down the whole kitchen with some last night and I told Josh it was like a tiny little nosegasm!  Yummy!  I can't wait to try some of the rhubarb or basil scented stuff too.  The website has lots of little starter kits too.  It is always good to find something that makes you want to clean.

No Photos, Please

Boone is playing around with the camera again.  We talked about getting a kiddie camera for Christmas but remembered our old Cannon was in the drawer doing nothing.  Plus, it is a tank of a digital camera.  He's learned about turning the power off, not resting in on the lens and does a pretty good job.  Today we were learning about the zoom during his brother's nap.

I was cleaning the microwave and I heard him near me.  Then he giggled and said "Mom, your butt is huge!"  "I am trying to take a picture of your back pocket."  Needless to say, we didn't keep any of those lovely pics.

The Magical Amount

Last time I checked "The Truth" campaign was designed to prevent kids from taking up smoking. Well, my kid is walking around singing this song like its from a Disney movie or something. He loves the catchy tune.

When I told Boone that it was about cigarettes and how yucky they were, he said "Cigrits Mom, then why is it the 'magical amount'?" Great... That is yet another reason for absolutely no media exposure for kids.

Eyes

Nana (or Boone @ Nana's) took this picture originally. I tweaked it a bit; been working on eyes. Not that his need much work...

PSE 6

Hooray!  I got my new Photoshop Elements and I am done trying to pull my hair out.  Turns out it isn't so compatible with iPhoto but I think I have it figured out.  I haven't made a banner yet but I made a quick scrapbook layout with Ali Edward's Quick Pages kit.  Here it is...

Early AM

Brody woke up at 4:30 this morning. I went in to get him and he sweetly said "Momma, I wanna wink a watuh, pease" Hard to resist, I know.

And then, he never went back to sleep. It is mornings like this that the bad momma wishes that Tivo had a playlist function...Thank goodness Daddy is an early riser on the weekdays!

Happy Dust Please!

Just a request for some positive vibes for my sis-in-law Elissa. She's had some pretty horrific experiences with kidney stones during her pregnancy and is miserable. She's been hospitalized a couple of times for pain management and hydration. They were supposed to do an amnio this week to see if baby Lauren's lungs are mature enough to schedule an induction. Although I am so excited to meet that little baby, I want her to be healthy and strong too! Elissa is 36 weeks this week so I am sure that baby will be okay should they decide to go ahead with it. Especially since she's a tough little girl!

Here is Elissa at her baby shower this weekend. She was such a trooper!

Things I am Looking forward to...
