What a Day!

My morning started out with these yummy treats and an extra hot mocha made by my hubby!

Boone and I went on a little hike on the American Trail near our house. They have been doing a lot of work down there and Boone is very ready to go again.

We followed this duck for awhile down the canal before he flew off.

Here is my little man on the bridge from the park.  We had a lot of fun together but I made the mistake of mentioning that we might actually get ticks here this year and we need to be careful.  He never let me forget it, he wasn't very interested in straying too far from the trail.  All in all, a pretty nice Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of my fellow mom's out there.

Today I am so grateful for my own mom who did such a wonderful job raising me :)  She is always there to encourage and fix my mistakes, even today.  She gives me confidence that I can have a career and be everything I need to be for my boys just as she did and was for me.  I love you Mama!

I am also grateful for my wonderful mother-in-law (how many people can honestly say that?) She helped to create this wonderful man I am married to and mold him into the best father I know. She has welcomed me into her heart and makes me feel just like her own daughter.

I am so thankful that I've been entrusted to raise my wonderful boys, with all the challenges and joys they bring.

Last, but not least, I am thankful that our sweet little niece Lauren finally joined us around 2:30 this morning.  Elissa, she is the best Mother's Day gift you will ever receive and I can't wait to get over there today to inhale that new baby essence (and post some pics soon).

Sing a Long

I overhear Josh singing in our bedroom while hanging out with the boys.

Me: What are you singing?

Him: Huh, what? Um, Alice in Chains.

Me: No you weren't, what was that?

Him:  I told you, Alice in Chains.

Me:  Uh, No. That was "Tigger and Pooh"

Him: I don't even know what you're talking about.

Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire!  :)

Added Twitter updates to the sidebar because my life is sooo fascinating that I know you can't wait a week for a blog post.  Actually, you'll probably wait two weeks for a tweet as I keep forgetting about it!  Warning...I usually tweet from my iPhone so grammar and spelling are usually a mess and evidenced by the "rickets" tweet.

Grouchy Mom/ Fun Mom

Way more grouchy than fun lately, I think.  But tonight we had some rain and Josh let Brody go out to play in it.  I decided I'd needed to be fun mom and go out there with him.  We stomped and splashed and played until we got Boone to come out too.  Then Boone and I got cold and came inside.  Brody is like his cousin, Dylan.  He could be in 40 degrees in a tee shirt and it doesn't bug him a bit.

I tried to upload some video Steph took of Boone's t-ball game but it was too grainy by the time it uploaded.  We'll take the camera this week and get some video.  It is hysterical.  Boone and Ian think that you get a point every time you get the ball, so fielding is becoming way cooler that batting.  I never thought that would happen.  Most practices include one of us trying to distract Brody to keep him from running on the field yelling "My Turn!" That kid is gonna be one heck of an athlete, or at least a Sports Fanatic.
