My kid doesn't have a chance. Between his Papa, Dad, and Momma, that kid is blue through and through. It is such a great thing for me because one of my biggest fears was to have an Alex P. Keaton from "Family Ties" for a kid. Phew!

Such a Smart Kid!
Watching the DNC tonight and I asked Boone if he knew who just came on the stage. "Where?" he said. "Oh, that's Barak Obama, YES!"

Tumblr
Having fun with this little website to keep a longer record of my twitter tweets. You can subscribe to it in a reader just like a blog. This is pretty geeky but see if you can follow my reasoning.
I use Twitter to record funny little blips that the kids say or we do. Things that really aren't blog worthy. Well, Twitter doesn't keep that stuff indefinitely but I can use Tumblr to automatically import them and keep a record of them. Also now use Jott even more since I can verbally Jott to Twitter and it will do voice to text transcription. Not always very accurately, sometimes humorously (Josh had one today that turned "conduit" to "cock duet"). And all of this is supposed to make my life easier? HA!
Stupid Jack Johnson! Edited
Just Kidding!
Actually, that is exactly what Greg and Josh would say whenever anything questionable would happen on our trip to the concert. And now...
I had completely forgotten about what Rebecca had said happened with the hits on her blog after posting about seeing a certain famous Leo at a museum. I am getting random visits from all over the world. They are probably really disappointed when they get here!
ETA: I think maybe my Feedjit was freaking out. Now it is back to just listing you normal, safe folks!

Jack Johnson
I think we bought our tickets for Jack Johnson February and I've been waiting patiently ever since. We finally got to go on Friday! It was fabulous! I have never seen the Gorge so full of people, every inch was packed. It still amazes me how many people I talk to that say they've never heard of him and yet a concert sells out that quickly! We had a great time just hanging out with Greg and Angie and really missed our Wendy. I didn't get any great pictures because as we approached the gate it said that cameras with detachable lenses were prohibited. Since I didn't want to take any chances, I send my baby back to the car with Josh and were had to settle for the iPhone camera. Of course, once we got inside, I saw like 4-5 other SLRs having no issues. Oh, well! Lesson learned.
Greg and Ang patiently waiting to get in!
Our $13 Margaritas!
An actual smile for a picture! Captured it!

Are You Sick of This Yet?
Apparently it totally depends on the picture. But this one confirms my Dad's Brigitte Bardot comparisons... If you try this yourself, use a flattering picture. On one that I tried, I looked equally like Angela Lansbury, Jessica Simpson, and Laura Bush. HMMM!

We Finally Did it...
Tonight is the second night without the BINKY...wish us luck. Brody hasn't really thrown any big fits but the problem is, he won't stop talking long enough to fall asleep. Tonight both boys were tossing and turing and refusing to fall asleep and Brody whines out "But I love Boone"!
I said "That's great buddy" and Boone says "Oh, thanks Bro" and they wrap each other up in a hug with a kiss and Boone rubs Brody's back to go to sleep. That's how I left them...45 minutes later, Brody is screaming at the door to their room.
He doesn't ask for a binky but needs to be rocked for awhile. As I lay him back down, I am wishing for that blasted pacifier to plug up his mouth so he'll quit talking. Boone is sleeping peacefully through it all. I finally say "Close your eyes and go to sleep". He flops his head to the side, closes his eyes and says "Wike Dis". I say "Yes" and he reaches for his brother's hand, wrenches it from under the covers and starts frantically manipulating Boone's fingers (as is his habit) like Annie Sullivan finger spelling into Helen Keller's hand when she first understood the word 'WATER". It is an annoying habit but it seems to relax him.
Just as I think its over and I can sneak out. He pops his head up and commands "Want some watuh". I get him one small sip and he gulps it down and responds "Moy". One more time with the "watuh" and he insists we change James Taylor to Jack Johnson. I think he's finally out!
I know I'll be back in there at 3 am playing out a similar scenario so I'll wish all of you sweet dreams instead.

Thunder Storm
I fell asleep before any rain came, if it even did, but I had to get some photos of this late season lightening show. Normally we have these storms in June but they really, they are so rare any time of the year up here. I love to sit and watch them. Even if its pouring, Josh and I set a blanket and watch in front of the sliding glass door. I really wanted to wake the boys to watch but that would have been a bad idea.
Fabulous thunder storms are one thing I really miss about the South (and hushpuppies and catfish and fried pies, you get the picture).
I didn't use a tripod so the shake is pretty bad but I think they still show how awesome nature's lights are.

What a Surprise...
You Are a Blue Crayon |
You are a loyal person, and the truest friend anyone could hope to find. On the inside, you tend to be emotional and even a bit moody. However, you know that people depend on you. So you put on a strong front. Your color wheel opposite is orange. Orange people may be opinionated, but you feel they lack the depth to truly understand what they're saying. |
The Other Son's Highlights...
I was feeling a little guilty for not having any videos of Brody up here. Last night, he and Josh were goofing around before bed and he had both legs in one leg of his pajama pants. He was hopping around like a little mermaid and they were both cracking up. I thought it would be a great video opportunity. Alas, I was a few seconds too late and was greeted by this charming little guy!
Oh, by the way...he stayed awake until 11 pm and woke up at 6:30 am. So much for sleeping in!
